Ramatuelle

I'm wrapping up four days of teaching at Fitstudio in Ramatuelle, France. Working with Eva Winskill and Fitstudio has been a long collaboration; we first met at the SAFE Convention in Stockholm in 1998. Throughout the years, Eva has invited me to several conventions, workshops, and retreats in France (Paris, Lyon, Val d'Isère, and Ramatuelle), and it's an honour to be re-invited and collaborate with her. This time, I taught my Loaded Flexibility Workshop.

We explored loaded movements through a large range of motion. This is an excellent way to strengthen the body throughout the entire joint complex and to tolerate load in multiple movement directions. Load isn't only good for preserving muscle and bone tissue—it goes far beyond and is a crucial component for a healthy metabolism. We can also use loaded exercise as a way to improve range of motion. There is still a long-held idea that you have to do passive stretching to improve range.

Here are some snapshots from the studio and the nature around it, as well as one of the best cakes in the world: “La Tarte Tropézienne”.

The next time in Ramatuelle will be from the 11th to the 13th of December with my Space M Yoga Workshop. You are warmly welcome.
