Åkulla Retreat
Over the past three days, I hosted a retreat in Åkulla (just outside Varberg) in the Halland region of Sweden. This was my second time returning to Åkulla Outdoor Retreat, and it was a pleasure to collaborate with Anna Munther.
Together, we explored a variety of exercise sessions focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance. These activities were complemented by amazing, nutritious food, stunning natural surroundings, relaxing moments by the fireplace and sauna, comfortable sleep, and meaningful time spent both alone and with others. We explored the captivating nature around the retreat by hiking or running.
I delivered a lecture on a topic dear to me: how we can redefine what exercise and movement mean, how to navigate the balance between doing too much and too little, and how to set up a plan using a toolkit that integrates flexibility, variation, and adaptation to both present needs and future desires. Just as we learned to ride a bike, this skill requires practice. It is simple, but not easy.
Thank you to all retreat participants, the Åkulla staff, and Kraftmark.
Next retreat will be held 20-22 of November. Here is more information if you like to join!
